Private High School in a Former Embassy

ESOP in the press: Private high school in a former embassy.

A pre-war building in the center of the Capital will host the Bucharest European School.

The European School Bucharest will carry out its activity in the former headquarters of the Syrian Embassy, an old building, built in 1910, headlines ADEVARUL.

The demand for private schools for rented spaces such as luxury villas or period buildings is growing, according to the real estate company ESOP Consulting. “The renting of old buildings with period perfume by private educational units represents a niche in continuous development. Only this month we brokered two such transactions “, said Alexandru Petrescu, the agency’s manager.

The European School Bucharest (SEB), a private educational unit, rented a villa in the Victoriei area, which served, for over 10 years, as the headquarters of the Syrian Embassy in Bucharest. The building, located on Lascar Catargiu Street, was built in 1910. It was for a long time in the heritage of RAPPS and returned to the owners only last year. The villa has a rentable area of 728 sqm, arranged in the basement, basement, ground floor, first floor, and attic. At the same time, the building has four parking spaces and a yard of almost 500 square meters. The building has 18 rooms, four bathrooms, two kitchens, and numerous technical areas.

SEB was founded in 2001 and reached 270 students enrolled in 20 classes, from all cycles of education: primary, middle school, and high school. The rented villa will serve to expand the school’s activity. The amount for which the property was rented is confidential.

Luxury after-school

Also, another luxury education unit rented an expensive villa in the Cotroceni area. Injoy after-school will operate in a building on Ion Manolescu Street. In total, the building has a rentable area of 210 square meters, seven rooms, four bathrooms, a kitchen, and technical spaces, arranged on several levels: basement, ground floor, first floor, and attic. Injoy will open in June and offer educational services before & after-school, a summer school, and numerous courses for the little ones.

“Only in the last two years have we received a double number of requests, coming from some private educational institutions that are being set up and from others that are expanding,” added the company’s manager.
