Intel Is Developing the World’s Next Smartest Office Building

Intel employees in Israel will have at their disposal, from 2019, the office project considered the most advanced in terms of technology, which will have the most facilities for employees.

The Petah Tikva campus will have a total area of 34,000 sqm and is designed to accommodate 2,500 employees. Office space will be LEED Platinum certified, focusing on energy conservation and water recycling. In addition to offices, Intel’s new smart campus will have a lab area, a gym, two restaurants, a cafe, a spa area, a hairdresser, laundry services, a learning center, and much more.

The campus will contain a covered parking lot for 120 bicycles with adjacent showers.

The mobile application that will make life easier for employees in the building

The building will have a mobile application, which will be available to all employees and will create a series of facilities, on the way home from work, access to the building, meal and meeting planning, temperature at work, lighting, coffee preferences, etc.

The office building’s location was chosen to be very accessible to public transport. Still, employees will be able to use the application to plan the way home, use their cars, and coordinate with other co-workers in the carpool area (an international high-speed highway system for vehicles with more than two people). This way, they can travel together to work and save energy and time. The application will indicate the route’s meeting place, time, and duration, depending on traffic.

The mobile application of the office building will offer employees many other facilities. It will indicate how long the queue is at the restaurant, the peak hours, how long is the waiting time and will offer them a top of the most ordered menus of the day, to be able to choose more efficiently, but also when his friends are available for dinner.

The building will study the temperature preferences of each employee and, during a meeting, will propose the most suitable temperature for all participants.

An employee interested in a particular service available on campus (gym, restaurants, cafe, spa area, hairdresser, laundry services, learning center), will be able to place an order and receive a notification when that service is available so it will be programmed quickly.

In our country, too, state-of-the-art office buildings have the qualities of green buildings and facilities for young employees. Almost all large projects that will be put into use in 2018-2019 have certificates of green buildings, LEED or BREAM, bicycle parking, and some even mobile applications for employees.
