The balance of the last eight years, from 2008 to 2016, points out that the office space market has been a winner, despite the period of severe crisis in the first period, according to an analysis of Ziarului Financiar.
Thus, the office market in Bucharest has grown by 125% in the last eight years, from a stock of 1.2 million sqm of office space in 2008, at about 2.7 million sqm, which is estimated to have at the end of this year.
The good thing is that almost all these offices are occupied, or under occupation, the vacancy rate is below 15% this year, according to ESOP statistics.
These figures show that only in Bucharest, in office towers, there are about 270.000 employees with folders, according to journalists’ calculations, of which about 150.000 new employees were brought to new offices in times of crisis 2008-2016 in Bucharest, according to Esop’s estimates.
The impact of corporatists can be seen in other statistics on a positive trend during this period: the number of smartphones bought in Romania increased by 4.100% and of passengers at airports, by 78%. Two skills specific to corporate people – to button the latest gadgets and to travel a lot.
