29% Increase in the Number of Spaces rented by SMEs

In an interview for the Capital publication, Alexandru Petrescu, ESOP Partner stated that this year SMEs completed 201 transactions with office space, with a total volume of 103,249 sqm, a 29% increase in their number and 24 % of the amount compared to 2012. Of the entire market, the number of transactions for SMEs represents 92%, and as a rented area, about 65%.

Transactions with office space dedicated to SMEs were boosted in 2013 primarily by the emergence of business centers built with European money, which offered rental facilities, say representatives of the real estate consulting company Esop.

About 43% of the transactions made on the SME segment in 2013 are between 300 sqm and 1,200 sqm. Most requests are in the 300-700 sqm segment. “We have rented space in large, standard buildings, delivered to the market this year – Sky Tower, West Gate, but also in boutique buildings in ultra-central areas, such as Armeneasca BC, Astoria Business Center, Monolit Square, and Arion Green,” stated Alexandru Petrescu, Managing Partner of Esop Consulting, the leader in space rental segment for SMEs, with a volume of about 40,000 sqm rented this year.
